What's up?

Good news:
- We're writing some new jams in preparation for recording with the lovely Morgan Keown this summer. We're aiming for a 5 or 6-song EP.
- New shirts are on their way. We'll have the design up shortly. You will dig it. The crosses shirt is almost done with, though, so if you wanted one, get in touch or forever wait till someone else makes the same thing for their band.
- We're open to booking shows this summer. Keep your ears to the ground for a few out-of-town dates.

Bad news:
- We're lazy at updating internet stuff. Follow us on facebook. Or Twitter. Yeah. @blackfaxes -- seriously.
- Deleted the myspace, but you didn't even remember that site, so no big deal. We will still accept messages proposing marriage from kind-hearted single ladies from far-away countries, though. Especially if they all have the same info, picture and messages. RIP myspace.

That is all. On a personal note, "Music From The Elder" by KISS: best KISS album.

HOLY SHIT

Last night was fucking rad. Seriously. Great turnout, great sets all around, positive vibe, and of course, the return of our beloved D'Arcy from Nihon.

It was really something else to see not only a great turnout on a Wednesday night in the middle of December, but that there were so many young people, both guys and girls. Huge props to the kid with the plaid bondage pants. I felt like I was transported to 1997 for a moment, and not because I was an awkward goth kid in pvc pants. But I digress...

So we actually have those new shirts (sorry Greg Ginn and SST, don't sue me). They look great, and I make a fantastic model. Glenn at Hardboiled(82 Nassau) does incredible things at reasonable prices. Go get some shirts printed by him, check his band !Attention!, and bake him some vegan cookies. After that, come say hi at a show and grab one of those shirts. $10, and we have sizes from Small to XL. Also, we have one more of the first shirt in a large, if you want to get street cred down the road.

In other news, we won't be playing that show with Kosmograd, but Graham's other band, Teethmarks, will. If you dig us, but want something a little more southern and rawkin', check 'em out. Featuring the sexual romance of Wellman and Drebit, formerly of Ball Harness. Why no links, you ask? Well, I'm a lazy asshole, mainly. Plus, you probably know how to use google. I believe in you.

Okay, back to songwriting and Scrabble. Life is good.

Blastin' Muthafuckas

Good news, you fucking bastards(I kid! We love you)!

Shirts(see that image?) are on their way to being printed, songs are being written, and we're planning on recording in the very near and real future.

So that leaves you with buttons, tapes, shirts, and who knows, maybe even the potential for a hard copy of a recording that isn't available on obsolete media! Wait. Ahh, fuck it.

Check out the shows coming up. Ruiner on the 8th. That'll be nice and big, and you get to soak it all up, because it'll be nice and warm and in that dank little hole we all love so much, Siesta Nouveaux.

Also, I'm selling some shit:

Go in peace with the lord.

Finally. It's here.

We're dubbing it asap, and it'll be all yours, for but a piece of gold(or is it still salt?). In the meantime, you can download it and put it on your computer and listen to only this, since it wasn't stolen, and you can feel better knowing this is one of the four things you're listening to that isn't stolen(don't worry, it's just as satisfying as the stolen stuff).

Also:

Saturday in St. Catherines @ 73 St Paul. Be there, support the cause and eat some rad food.

Tuesday at the Bovine: Faxes + Detroit = massage oil for your eyes and ears

Peace.

Monday, June 1, 2009

Now that May is dead and gone for 2009, we have a variety of interesting and truly fascinating news reports. Here are some of the more immediate matters taking precedence in the world of Black Faxes(and beeeeeeeyond):

- Show this Wednesday, June 3rd at 751. There may be a lot of amplifiers taking up space, so come early and avoid the shame often associated with the failure you'd experience otherwise. Remember, it's FREE, and we're warming it up for Ball Harness(check out their new material), and muthafuckin' AKROID. Three highly attractive bands, one night, and we're tearing it up in the name of Cancer Research. Donate some cash, or buy one of the shirts Lindsey has been making BY HAND. Don't sleep on this.

- The Dave and Chuck show appearance has been postponed until they move into their new studio, but all this means is a period of truly unrealized, fantastic incubation. Prepare for it!

- Peter and Marty's other band, the Blackouts, are playing their final show ever. Tina wants out of the family business, and no amount of severed horse heads can change her mind. So, June 21st, the Blackouts will be killing it opening for the Vibrators. Tina has tickets. Buy one(or many, it'll help you make cool and interesting friends).

- We won't have those demos for the show, but we'll have them soon. We may put up 'Hog Futures' and a special cover jam for your aural pleasures. Lick the dirt and keep alert like Chuck Norris.

- On a final, unrelated and personal note, Amebix playing live is approved by Graham and myself.

Pete

March 29th, 2009

Thanks to everyone who came out and checked us out! So many thanks to Matt for hooking us up, and all the dudes in ORCA, Swords(St. John's represent!), and Vilipend for fucking killing it on a level that is nearly criminal. We couldn't have asked for a better line-up for a first show. OH! If you are here because you saw the site on the buttons we gave you, say hey! If you're reading this and want a button, drop me a line.

What's new? Well, save for the aforementioned show, a whirlwind weekend in NYC, and my inability to fall asleep, we've got shit stacked up. Sort of. Josh played his first and final show with us, as he's moving his fine self back to Kingston, where he's been crowned Ultimate Master of Kingston. I think it's a big deal. His leaving will be saddening, but having someone to crash and party in Kingston is pretty awesome. Thanks in advance, dude!

Otherwise, recording a demo(for real), new songs, loud amps, and more shows. Rumour has it we're playing a festival in Ajax with some rad bands at the end of May. Get ready!

Lastly, before I force myself into a coma, we promise to play way harder, way louder, and way more.

Peace in the Middle East,

- P
