LOU THE DESTROYER

Okay....his name is just Lou. But he's our new bass player!

Lou comes to us from the town of Chapleau, Ontario. If you don't know where that is....don't worry. We're pretty sure he made it up. Nonetheless, it's good to have a man in this band who can actually grow a respectable beard. Lou enjoys a good beef brisket, bands that tend to play a lot slower than we do, and lovemaking (he borrows heavily from the Latin style).

That being said, we've booked some studio time for mid-May, so expect some hot summer jams coming your way. Marty has insisted on including his cover of LFO's "Summer Girls". I think I see someone's star rising...

Help local independent music retailers!!

Here's the deal:

http://www.thestar.com/article/619260

Recently, a city inspector gave Hits & Misses(860 Bloor St. West) an infraction for not obtaining some ridiculous second-hand good permit. This permit is $555, and apparently is handed out arbitrarily by inspectors. Many business owners do not have this permit, and it's ludicrous that one man who runs a very independent shop geared toward a very small market should be singled out and made to pay for a permit which itself seems bogus and very unclear.

Take a minute, read the article, and contact your councillor, and Joe Pantalone, who is the councillor for that area(Trinity-Spadina). Tell them to get to work on resolving permit issues, and to try and support local businesses, instead of hindering them!

If you have the internet(or use LSD enough that you have developed psycho-technological powers), tune into the Dave and Chuck show on May 31st for an interview and performance by us. I guarantee nothing else will break, though faces may melt.

It's more fun to compute

We got added last minute to our friend Tina's birthday party/cake wrestling extravaganza. If you missed it, you're an asshole with no sense of self or priority. If you were there, you are probably reaping the benefits of living a life of pure mental carnage(a good thing), brought upon oneself through partying that Andrew WK couldn't even imagine.

Lots of energy. So much so, I busted a nut(my Les Paul is in the shop as we speak, getting the nut replaced) on stage. Awkward experience to have happen the first song into the set, but it's the trials that make us who we are. We persevered, and Jasta would've been proud.

What else? We're on the hunt for a bassist. With Josh for really real being gone, we need someone who is dedicated(other bands are fine, of course), has a suitable rig(not to be size queens, but seriously, we are), and is into contributing in songwriting. These are attractive qualities to have, and we will not only want to play with you, but you may be invited back for the next round, and ultimately you will be able to marry Graham(see next season's 'The Bachelor').

So, prepare yourselves, and remember, Graham prefers a lady in red.
